Hi I'm Lisa, and I'm glad you're here.

Finding a therapist can be exhausting, especially one that you feel "gets you."

 I'm not the stereotypical therapist that repeatedly says "Uh hu" and asks "how does that make you feel?" I genuinely want to know and understand my clients. 

SPECIALTIES 

 Self-Worth & Relationships are the heart of my therapeutic practice. I believe that self-esteem and secure relationships are key to our mental and emotional well-being. I support clients to embrace their most authentic selves by creating an environment where they feel respected, understood and accepted. I help clients to understand their emotions, needs and patterns of coping with problems that keep them feeling stuck. Rather than focusing on what is wrong with clients, I help them to access and build on their strengths. 

Relationships:  The partners and families I see often come into my office feeling stuck. They describe having the same argument over and over with no resolve or have given up arguing altogether and have slowly drifted apart. I practice emotionally focused therapy (EFT) which is based on the science of love and attachment. I support partners and families to break patterns that keep them feeling stuck and learn new ways of interacting that fosters deeper connection. 

I am a LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. I work with individuals of all ages and am especially passionate about working with LGBTQIA+ teens. I provide a safe space where clients can be 100% themselves and build pride in their identity. As a queer identified therapist who works from a systemic lens, I am well versed in LGBTQIA+ topics and understand the oppression faced by individuals within and outside of the community.
